After building about fifty five Archtop Ukuleles, the next logical step was to go larger. We started with small lower bouts near 12" wide, then worked on up the ladder to 16". It's hard to get an arm around anything bigger, so the only thing to do was to use prettier woods.
Surprisingly the 'feel' and flexibility of the important pieces are very similar for the builder. On Maui, we have several very good Jazz players, and many have given these a 'test drive'.
